Nine students from the 8th grade class had the opportunity to attend Camp Med at Lake Area Technical College on Wednesday, February 7th. Students gained knowledge regarding the different medical professions offered by LATC and hands on experiences. Students visited with instructors in different fields from Physical Therapy Assistant, Medical Assistant, Nursing, Paramedic and Firefighter, Dental Assisting, Medical Lab Technician, Occupational Therapy Assistant to the newest medical degree offered, Surgical Technology. Students were able to gain hands on experience as well. Students learned how to inject a needle to administer medicine, insert a needle into a vein and test bacteria for certain pathogens.
