The 5th Graders had an exciting opportunity to visit the South Dakota Air National Guard in Sioux Falls! During our trip, students learned about the important work the Air Guard does to protect our country. One of the highlights was getting an up close look at a retired F-16 fighter jet. Students were able to see it's size, hear about its power, and learn how it is used in missions. We also had the privilege of meeting a pilot, who shared what it takes to fly an F-16 and the training involved. A flight crew member also spoke with us about the teamwork required to keep the jets safe and ready to fly. It was a memorable day and one that may even spark some future careers in aviation or the military!
