Congratulations to the newest members of the Waubay National Honor Society. The ceremony, held in the school commons on Tuesday, Nov. 18th, recognized students who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in the four pillars of NHS: scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
Eight students were honored during the evening ceremony. Family members, teachers, and district administrators were in attendance to support and applaud the inductees.
This recognition is not simply about grades—it’s about commitment, integrity, and willingness to serve others.
The ceremony opened with a welcome from current member Will Althoff, followed by the traditional candle-lighting ritual that symbolizes the four core principles upheld by NHS members. Current members, Callie Weyh and Kayce Berger spoke about the meaning of each pillar and the responsibility that comes with membership.
Students inducted this year include:
Evan Aker, Witten Butler, Caley Boik, Addison Heinje, Peyton Rumpza, Roman Thuringer, Bailey Utne, and Makenzie Zubke.
Congratulations to our newly inducted National Honor Society members. May this honor serve not only as recognition of your achievements, but as a reminder of the impact you are capable of making in your school, your community, and the world. May this achievement be the beginning of even greater accomplishments ahead.
