The Waubay 6-8th graders, Kellin Boik, and Parker Rockwood participated in the ECC National History Day competition at Summit School on Friday November 21, 2025. "Revolution, Reaction, Reform in History". We had a wide variety of projects in the areas of documentary, exhibit boards, group performances, and papers. They each represented Waubay proudly. Our two high school students represented Waubay in the geography test division of the contest.
Our middle school documentary team of Phoebe Bourassa and Emma Christenson placed 2nd in their division and Hailey Butler, Taggart Gaikowski, and Kaden Gaikowski placed 3rd in group performance. These students will be representing Waubay School at the Regional NHD in Aberdeen, SD in March. If they place 1st or 2nd at regions they will advance onto the state competition.
Every student has been able to view their critiques and is learning how to better prepare for the next competition. We are very proud of each and every one of our students that participated in the NHD competition this year and wish those headed to regions in March good luck.
