Spelling Bee Success
Waubay demonstrated academic excellence at the Spelling Bee, with students securing individual honors in every division from grades 1 through 8. In the overall team standings, Waubay earned a distinguished second-place finish, following Rosholt in first, with Waverly/South Shore, Florence, Wilmot, and Summit rounding out the top six.
Individual Spelling Bee Honors:
First Grade: Alan Butler 4th Place, Blair Holscher 5th Place
Second Grade: Reagan Kwasniewski 4th Place
Third Grade : John Lesnar 1st Place, Mallory Butler 2nd Place
Fourth Grade: Braxton Gaikowski 4th Place
Fifth Grade: Keisha Rencountre 4th Place, Maizy Soldier 5th Place
Sixth Grade: Hailey Butler 1st Place, Kaden Gaikowski 2nd Place
Seventh Grade: Dazon Soldier 5th Place
Eighth Grade: Aiden Butler 2nd Place
Other Waubay students who competed included Alex Bury (2nd Grade), Azrah Locke-Seaboy (4th Grade), Tayler Seaboy (7th Grade), and Trace Gaikowski (8th Grade).
Math & Business Contest Highlights
Several schools, including Waubay, Waverly-South Shore, Rosholt, Florence, Henry, and Great Plains Lutheran, participated in the Math & Business Contest.
In the business portion, Callie Weyh was the sole Waubay representative, placing 5th in the Personal Finance division.
Waubay also had a strong showing in the math competition, with the following students earning top placements:
• Algebra II: Addison Heinje – 3rd Place
• Geometry: Sage Gaikowski –2nd Place
• Algebra I: Kellin Boik – 5th Place
Other math competitors from Waubay included Krew Gaikowski, Cash Gaikowski, Jeorge Tupy, and Will Althoff.

Celebrating Achievement
The event showcased the hard work and dedication of students across multiple schools. Waubay School is proud of all its participants and congratulates them on their achievements!
All awards for grades 1st through 6th grade will be handed out at their end of school year opening.
Grades 7 – 12 awards will be handed out at the Academic Awards Program.
