Congratulations to Tigh Gaikowski, Kolby Haubris, Jaxen Dockter, and Kolt Mendenhall for breaking the current school record in the boys 4x100 meter relay with a time of 48.61!
The track meet scheduled for Friday 4/28 in Sisseton has been cancelled.
Please remember that the Waubay School District is "Peanut Aware". We do have students who are severely allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. A list of snacks that are approved will be posted on the website. The end of the school year means classroom parties. We need to make sure that the snacks that come into the school are safe. NO HOMEMADE SNACKS ARE ALLOWED. All snacks and treats must have labels on them. Treats brought without a label will not be served. Thanks for your assistance.
A Junior High Track Meet in Milbank has been added for tomorrow, April 25th with field events starting at 3:30pm and running events at 4:00pm.
Due to the current weather conditions there will be no golf practice today 4/20 or Friday 4/21.

Waubay Elementary will be hosting a Book Fair in the boardroom on Thursday, April 20 from 1-3:15 and 5:30-after the Elementary Concert. This Book Fair is being held by Whimsy on Main from Milbank. The elementary will receive 20% of the proceeds in new books for the school library.
This is a reminder from Waubay School District. Tomorrow (April 19th), several students in grades 9-12 will be attending the NSU Math Contest in Aberdeen. All juniors and seniors that are not at the math contest will be going to Milbank for a Think and Drive demonstration. They will leave at 9:00 AM and return around 1:00 PM. Friday, April 21st will be a normal day for school.
Waubay students and staff are holding a change drive for students who lost their belongings during the apartment fire on April 10th. Coins and paper money may be brought to the office.
TRACK MEET TOMORROW at Gayville-Volin. THE BUS WILL LEAVE FROM WAUBAY AT 5:45 AM. Bus will be in Summit at the school to pick up track students at 6:00AM.
TRACK SCHEDULE CHANGE: The Grizzlies Track Team will now be participating in a meet on Tuesday, April 18th in Gayville-Volin. The meet is set to start at 10:00AM, please watch for further communications on when the bus will be leaving Tuesday morning.

Prom tomorrow night: ONLY parents/guardians can enter early at the gym doors at 6:30. The front doors will open to the public at 6:50; grand march starts 7:00.

Good evening. This is Superintendent Scott Lepke. Tomorrow students in grades Kindergarten through grade 12 will be attending an assembly in Wilmot. The presenter is a former NFL and Canadian Football League player. The topics for the elementary will be kindness. The topic for the secondary students is suicide prevention. Both programs are designed to help create positive culture at school. We have also started to administer our state assessments. It is important for your student to take these tests seriously and do as well as they can. Our goal is to make sure all students in grades 3-8 and grade 11 are tested. Attendance is important from now until the end of the school year. Thanks for your coooperation.
